How to Reconcile General Ledger

The general ledger is the main business record which keeps a record of the business’s finances total. This is a combination of all the ledgers put together into one general total. It is important to know how to reconcile general ledger so that you can find any accounting mistakes. The total of the general ledger should match the total of the bank statements.

If the numbers do not match then you have to go back and check your numbers and calculations. The general ledger should be reconciled every month. By doing this you will make it easier to transfer accurate data at the end of the year.
